Exit interviews have limited usefulness. It asks someone who has already decided to leave to provide improvement feedback. Many times, this is the very first time they were even asked their opinion about our culture and our organization. While important, there may be a better way.

What if you would ask team members -- Why do you stay with us? What would make our culture even better? OR What do you value most about working at our organization?

Assuming you've created a safe and candid interview setting -- this feedback opens the door for deeper team engagement before they feel the need to explore other options.

Not only will you gain actionable insights from those committed team members, we gain important first person accounts to attract new talent to our organizations.
