How to Build Your House Safe from the Shifting Sands

You want to build your house upon a rock, not on shifting sands.

No one would dispute that statement.

But when it comes to leadership, what does that actually look like?

When you are grounded in a firm conviction and have clarity on your mission and the values needed for maximum impact  -- you’ve created a foundation built on rock, not shifting sand.

That foundation includes three defining characteristics of what I’m calling the Level 3 Leader.

Level 3 Leaders love their team as much or more than they love their products and their clients/customers.

Defining Characteristic 1:  Being a “Be Rich” Leader

Lead in a way that you show being rich in love, in caring, in faith, in abundance, and in trust.

Defining Characteristic 2:  Display the “Love Chapter” Values

First Corinthians 13 is widely known as the Love Chapter of the New Testament. Level 3 leaders flip the verses to reflect how leaders act and respond:

Leaders are patient, leaders are kind. Leaders do not envy, do not boast, are not proud.  Leaders do not dishonor others, are not self-seeking, are not easily angered, keep no record of wrongs. Leaders do not delight in evil but rejoice with the truth. Leaders always protect, always trust, always hope, always persevere.

Defining Characteristic 3:  Be Radically Generous

Level 3 Leaders are generous in ways that aren’t necessarily financial.

Selfless. Bountiful. Grace-filled. Going over and above. Unexpected.

As leaders, let’s strive to embody those characteristics as we lead ourselves, our teams, our communities, and our homes.

I’d love to hear from you...how are you building your leadership house on a rock? Text me at my personal number: 1-754-800-9461.
